Peter Wykes Burgis is a researcher into the history of the Australian recorded sound industry. He was involved, as a consultant, in the development of the National Collection of Sound Recordings, created in 1973 by the National Library of Australia, Canberra. He was then appointed Sound Archivist at the NLA in 1973, working there at least until 2001.
